Super Awesome Family

This morning at breakfast we were all talking and through a bit of discussion my wife declared it to be true, Nicolas Flamel is Santa Claus. Go ahead, try and refute it. :) I mean, come on, look at that picture!

A lot of us know Flamel from Harry Potter, but he’s been around for awhile. Here is a wiki article on Nicolas Flamel.

Two years ago today, Charlotte was born. Happy Birthday little girl!! I love you!!

I saw this yesterday at The Daily What. This is totally what happens with my dad asks me to look at his laptop.

My wife sent me this last week from lucy lou. It’s totally awesome, and I LOVE it!! I’m a huge huge HP fan (if you didn’t already know). :)

Not! I was going to look back at 2010, but you can do that by reading through the archives. In short, it was awesome and amazing.

Now it’s time to look forward at 2011. This is going to be a great year as well! I don’t know what it holds in store, I just know I’m going to have a blast. Just you wait and see.

A Lego toy shop. Yup, that’s right. Two days ago, my super awesome family got me an out of the blue gift. I can’t wait to build it all. We actually started last night, and there are a ton of pieces!! Soooo awesome!! It’ll probably take a couple days to finish. I’m thinking we can keep it out through Christmas and maybe we can re-build it for every Christmas season. A new tradition. Yay!!! I am super super excited. Thank you soooo much!!! I love you sooo much!!! I super excited to be able to play Legos as a family and build this toy shop.

I think they may have gotten the idea from an obsession I’ve had for quite a while. I’ve always wanted to slowly build a Christmas mini village. You know what I’m talking about. For those of you that are confused, here’s a picture of ¬†one of the houses.

I’m going to buy a piece every year, and slowly I’ll have a whole village. Maybe one year, I’ll get a small train that can go through the city. I’ll have to get people and trees and lights, sleds, soooo many more. It’s probably grown from my childhood obsession with Sim City.

I found this blog who had a super cool Christmas village. Don’t worry baby, I don’t know if I’ll ever go this far, but you never know ;P.

Anyhow, what are some of your Christmas traditions, or ones that you’d like to start?

Vote for Me
Good Mood Gig from SAM-e

I wanted to do a quick post, thanking everybody for voting for me!! It’s so awesome to log on each time, and see the numbers bumped up. I spent some time today (on my break) walking around the tunnels of downtown Houston and asking people to vote for me. It was awesome. I know it’s weird for a stranger to ask you to go to a site (http://3.ly/cookie) and then vote. I got a lot of ‘no’ replies, but I got a lot of people stopping and helping me out. It’s pretty awesome. Thank you city of Houston, I’ll be down there tomorrow at lunch too. :)

A special thank you to all of my super awesome friends and family that keep reposting and voting for me. I really do have the best family and friends in the world.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

The competition is still going, and I’m not in the top 20 yet, but slowly getting there, thanks to you guys!! Keep voting!!

It’s pretty amazing how what you physically do, can affect how you feel. I know it’s sometimes the hardest thing to make yourself smile, when you’re hurting or not feeling all that great, but when you do, something seems to change.

Sometimes Monday morning isn’t the most appealing thing in the world. Even if you love your job, there are days where you would rather just stay in bed and sleep. For me, that was this morning. There were a lot of waking hours last night, and Monday morning brought that 6:38 AM alarm. At first it was kind of difficult, but then I pulled myself out of my bed and saw my wife and kiddos and I couldn’t help but smile.

I have the most wonderful and amazing family in the world and when I smiled, I was ready to take on those “case of the Monday blues.”

So the next time you need a pick me up, just smile. It brightens up your day.

Here’s the Glee version of the song, Smile:

It’s a long video, almost 13 minutes, but after I watched the entire video on the bus ride home last night, it took everything I had to not to cry. Maybe I did just a little. After watching the video, I felt like I had to post this. Joel Burns shares his story to provide hope for all those kids facing bullies. Especially the gay and lesbian teens that face a whole other level of hate from the world.

Some quotes:

“I want to tell any teen that might see this, give yourself a chance to see how much better life will get, and it will get better.”

“You will get out of the household that doesn’t accept you. You will get out of that high school, and you never have to deal with those jerks again if you don’t want to.”

“You will find and make new friends that will understand you.”

“Please stick around to make those happy memories for yourself”

“The attitudes of society will change, please live long enough to be there to see it.”

We need to do all we can. If you don’t know where to go, go here: trevorproject.org.

I want to end this with a few sentences to my kids. I love you more than you will ever know. No matter where life takes you or whatever you do, I will always love you for who you are. Just as you are. Just as you are. You are wonderful, amazing people. Society can be mean hearted for all sorts of reasons (sexual orientation, race, religion, class, etc.), but no matter what, I will always love you, and will always do my best to protect and support you! Always!

I had a ton of different topics for today’s post. I was going to originally write about something in the news, then I was going to write about the Chilean miners, then I decided that I was going to write about the craziness that is happening with our pipes in our house. Ask my wife, it is causing me quite a bit of stress, but then she retweeted this, and I decided that I needed to write about this.

I just want to circle her with love. Will you help? Please? http://ow.ly/2SBEr #lettersoflove

A family has lost their baby. I don’t care about anything else about their story. I just know that her and her husband are hurting. I can’t imagine myself in their shoes because just the slightest thought of it puts me into tears. I love my babies sooooooo much. I love them more than I ever thought possible.

A bunch of people have decided to help create a ring of support to help this family. I’m going to write an email and send it to them.

If you send a positive and supportive email to: loraleechoate@gmail.com they can get it to the family.
