About a month ago, my wife started playing this iPhone game named Tap Zoo. All you do is run your own zoo. You buy animals, shops, and land, land, land. You get to choose which animals to breed. You can even play a little mad scientist and cross breed animals. My wife played it for weeks before she sent me an invite within the game last week, and I’ve been obsessed.

I spend time buying more land to buy more animals and shops. I download app suggestions within the game to get more currency to buy more animals. It’s pretty ridiculous actually. I can’t believe I’m so addicted to it, but it’s a great short play time. If I open up the app for five minutes, I can do everything I need to keep the zoo growing. Perfect to play while waiting for the bus or to kill a little time here and there.

I can also spend twenty minutes playing the game moving the things exhibits around, and visiting other zoos. It’s just fun and the best part, it’s FREE!!!

Definitely check it out!!

Here’s what my zoo looks like right now. I know it’s crowded. I’m waiting for more land.

Last week, I finally caved in a purchased Lego Creationary. It was just too cool of an idea to not try out. I had super high expectations for this game, and believe it or not, I was still blown away.

So what’s the idea? Well, it’s a multiple player game. It’s essentially like Pictionary, but instead of drawing out pictures, you use Lego pieces to build what you’re trying to get your team to guess.

There are multiple ways to play. You can play as one team against time, team against team, or on your own. It’s super fun, and my family had a blast playing it.

You should definitely check it out. You can get it here at amazon.com for $34.99.

Wow!!! Awesome app! I love it. Appbzr basically has the same listing of apps as the app store. In fact, when you purchase or download an app, it opens up the app store and takes you to the actual app. This is just a representation of the apps.

So what does it give me? Well, it displays apps that have had price drops. You can click through and find apps that have dropped prices and apps that are free that used to cost money. It comes in real handy with those apps that are free for ‘one day only’. I love it!! It’s so great. I’ve been obsessed with downloading and playing these super fun and free apps.

You should definitely check this out.

Last night, my older kids got back home, and we had a special movie night to watch the highly anticipated movie Camp Rock 2. We’re a big Disney family, so when Camp Rock 2 started advertising four months ago, we were ready to watch it.

Mitchie is back at camp which now has a rival camp across the lake called, Camp Star. After a Camp Star woos a bunch of counselors and campers over to their camp, Mitchie and the gang step up to the plate and become counselors to keep the camp open. After the first couple of days, the counselors decide to challenge Camp Star to a competition at the end of summer. Mitchie heads up the effort.

The competition gets fierce and Mitchie momentarily forgets about having fun at summer camp. Shane Gray helps her get back in the grove and the group recommits to the competition. The other main story lines include the Mitchie / Shane romance, the Nate / Camp Star girl romance, and the Jason / junior campers.

The movie is great, the music is great, and it’s much better than the first movie.

You should definitely check out this movie.

For the past four or five years, it has been one of my favorite un-official traditions to find and print out the schedules of certain teams to hang at my desk. This year, I thought I’d post a link to you all. I love it, and I think you will too!

It’s an excel spreadsheet with all of the FBS school’s schedules. The coolest part by far is that each school is represented by that school’s football helmets. Check it out. It’s totally cool.

Definitely check it out, especially if you’re a college football fan.

Go to College Football Helmet Schedule to get the excel workbook.

A classical and wonderful recording of Monteverdi’s Vespers. I just purchased this the other day, and listened to the whole thing. It’s great! Of course, that’s if you like the classical type of music. The mastering is awesome and it just well directed and Monteverdi is always steps up to the plate.

Seraphic Fire is a young groups based out of Miami, and they are producing some great stuff. I hope one day I’ll be able to catch a concert.

You should definitely check it out if you’re a classical fan.

I’ve gone on too long without reviewing one of my favorite books in the world. For me it ranks right up there with the Harry Potter series, but it’s not nearly as well known. I hope you will spend the time to take a look. It’s one of the fastest reads.

Ender’s Game is set sometime in the future of earth in the midst of a war against the buggers, an alien race. In this fierce battle, the world finds the best and brightest kids to train in battle school. Ender, Andrew Wiggin, is a third child in a society where it’s illegal to have more than two kids. His family is given an exception because of his two brillant older siblings, but didn’t have the right temperament for military school. Ender has all the pieces, and is sent to battle school.

The rest I will let you discover for yourself.

You should definitely check it out, it’s only $6.99 from amazon.com.

Last weekend my mother in law bought the American Girl, Rebecca. When she purchased the doll, it came with a book with Rebecca’s story. She gave the book to my eight year old daughter and she read it one sitting. After finishing the book, she insisted that my wife and I read it as well.

Yesterday on the bus ride home from work, I pulled out the book and read it all the way home. They story is about Rebecca, the youngest girl in a relatively recently immigrated family from Russia. They follow the traditional Jewish traditions and have a loving family. Rebecca’s uncle and his family are still in Russia leading up to WWI, and are struggling to get out of Russia to come to the US. Rebecca’s family struggles to survive, but are constantly trying to save enough money to buy ship tickets for their family to come to the US.

As the book goes on, Rebecca figures out a way to help her family.

You should check out this book when you get a chance. It’s a short read, and it has a good message. You can get it from amazon.com.

Recently, my son has gotten obsessed with Legos and with the release of Toy Story 3, there have been a big big influx of Toy Story 3 Legos. Am I disappointed? Heck no!!! Both are super fun by themselves, together they’re awesome.

There are five or six Toy Story 3 scenes that are replicated within the Lego world. Some are easier to assemble than others, but all of super fun. We spend hours putting them all together and then more time playing and recreating the scenes.

You should definitely check out these themed legos regardless of whether or not you have kids. You can get the train set (the biggest hit at our house) from amazon.com.

So after my iPhone 3GS died a watery death by spilling a large glass of water on it at BW3s, I decided I would search for a case that might be able to best withstand water.

My search and questioning led me to Otterbox. I recently got the case for my iPad, and I love it. It really makes it feel sturdy, although it adds a lot of weight. So, when the iPhone 4 Otterbox Commuter series came out, I ordered it right away.

Be warned, it’s all over their website that they do not protect against submersion, but I’m really looking for more accidental stupidness at the dinner table prevention…hahahaha.

I got the case and I immediately opened it and put it on my iPhone. It seems to fit nice, but the initial layer is not quite a snug as I was hoping, especially compared to the iPad case. It does cover all of the exposed ports. It will probably protect against my stupidity, but I was hoping for a little more.

I don’t regret the purchase, but I don’t think it’s worth the cost of $35 bucks from the Otterbox website.

It’s up to you if you want to check it out, I’m glad I have it, but a little disappointed with the overall cost.
